My primary goal as an educator is to help my students succeed not just in the classroom, but in their everyday lives. It is my hope that I can give them the skills and tools they need to thrive in their adult lives whether that is in college or the work force. Every student has the potential to succeed, and it is my responsibility as a teacher to help them believe that. I plan to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel they can reach their full potential academically and socially. It is imperative to me that my students become independent learners, who get into the habit of asking questions, then put in the work to find the answers.
I have always enjoyed learning and being a student. More than that, I enjoy helping others learn. I have been both a coach and a tutor, and in each experience, nothing compares to watching a concept “click” for another person. That moment is what fuels my desire to be a teacher. It is my hope that my students will reciprocate my excitement because for me, learning goes above and beyond the classroom. The world is a place that is meant to be explored, and I plan to implement that into my lessons through real-world applications and hands-on activities. This way, students will know how to apply what they learn in the classroom. That to me is what makes a lesson truly meaningful.
